Playa de Cofete
Playa de Cofete – located on the island’s west coast, this is considered one of the best beaches in Fuerteventura. TripAdvisor.com included Cofete as one of the “Top 10 Best Beaches in Europe”. In fact, portions of the 2018 film “Solo: a Star Wars Story”, as well as the 2014 Hollywood film “Exodus: Gods and Kings” were both filmed at this beach.
Such Hollywood filmmakers choose this beach for a reason: its reputation as “the loneliness place in Spain”, due to its remoteness. It’s located about 5 km from the south-west tip of the island and with no access to the northern side of the beach, you can only enter by crossing through the Jandia Nature Park from Morro Jable. First-time visitors to Playa Cofete are advised to bring enough food & drink for the duration of their time there (since there are no convenience stores in the area).
